Chris DoidgeChris Doidge - Andover Sound

Chris lives in Andover, but has been around the block in his formative years. Gloucestershire, Bedfordshire, the West Midlands and Cardiff have all played their part in shaping Andover Sound's resident journalist and drive-time presenter.

Starting as most presenters do in the sleepy world of hospital radio, Chris then rose to the dizzy heights of News Editor on the student radio station at Warwick University, RaW. Not content with talking about tuition fees and timetable clashes, he invited Conservative leadership challenger David Davis to come into the studio and say something he shouldn't. This he duly did, and it secured RaW's first ever contribution to BBC Radio 4 and Newsnight.

From there, it was up the greasy pole to Cardiff, where as well as trying to hospitalise David Cameron (not deliberately) he learnt how to do radio stuff properly.

Since then he's been in Hampshire, covering the county's news from Winchester, before landing here at Andover Sound.

Outside of radio, he's a politics geek, football supporter and frustrated gardener.

Chris loves television shows Lost, The West Wing and The Wire, books by Ian McEwan and music by The Divine Comedy and Arcade Fire.
