An eight year old girl's been assaulted as she played outside on an Andover estate.
It happened on Cricketers Way yesterday evening.
The girl was playing out at the front of her house with a friend on Bradman Square between seven fifty five and ten past eight when she was approached by a man.
He lifted her nightie, touched her and then ran away. She was unhurt but very upset and went home.
The man is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties, with short black hair and slim build, wearing a plain red t-shirt and trousers.
PC Tyrone Tapper said, "This is a very worrying incident and we are appealing for information from anyone who can help. We you in the vicinity of Cricketers Way at this time, or visiting the Tesco shop? If you think you may have seen this man please contact us."
You can call Hampshire Police on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with information.
Officers will also be stepping up patrols in the area and running a 'Street Meet' session on Roman Way Playing Fields between 6 and 8pm, for anyone with concerns to ask questions and get reassurance. |
