North West Hampshire's MP says more needs to be done to promote Andover as a business hub.
The town already has head offices for companies including Twinings, Stannah, Simplyhealth and Lloyds Banking Group here, but Sir George Young thinks there's plenty of space for more.
Our local representative wants agencies like Test Valley Borough and Hampshire County Councils to work alongside the businesses that are already here to attract others in.
Sir George outlines his idea: "What we have to do is get out there and market Andover in what's a very competitive market, and say this is the place where you should locate your business.
"It's well placed geographically, there's good communications, a good college where people can get the training that they need and people looking for jobs in Andover. That will help to rebuild the economy and in turn make it a more prosperous place to live." |
