An Andover primary school is a little nearer to their target of raising money to build a new music, dance and drama room, thanks to a day of rocking out!
A gig day was held at the weekend by Anton Junior School, to help them collect some extra funding for the new facilities, which they hope to build in the summer.
Local bands gave up their time to take part, including In Darklight, who are former pupils of the school, and around £800 was raised throughout the day.
Headteacher Tom Donohoe says they they've done well so far to get money in, but there's plenty more going on: "This is the first music event we've done, but we've had a lot of events over the year - the bonfire night had about 2000 people come alone and we raised about £6000.
"We've had a talent show which was a winner, and raised about £2000, we've got an auction in 2 weeks time at John Hanson, which should be a good night - there's loads planned." |
