There were celebrations at Andover's independent school on Tuesday as pupils at Rookwood collected their GCSE results.

41% of all entries gained an A*/A and there was an overall A-C pass rate of 91%. Amongst the successes were Jade White (9 A* and 3 As), Jessica Thomson (6 A* and 4 As) and Christopher Neil (5 A* and 3 As).

Head teacher Louise Whetstone said: "I am incredibly proud of all the pupils at Rookwood. Their hard work, determination and dedication has produced some truly excellent grades - all of which are fully deserved.

"We send them on their way with our very best wishes for continued success in their A Level studies."
