There are still pieces of history that haven't been uncovered across North West Hampshire.
That's according to local Historian David Borrett of the Andover Historical Society.
It comes as the group celebrates Andover's heritage with their traditional yearly lecture to be held at the Lights.
Mr Borrett says it's an opportunity to bring people of the town together to share the past and recent history that has made Andover what it is: "There's history going back at least 1000 years, it's a very historic area - especially the archaeology of the area, there are so many Roman, bronze age, stone age, iron age sites that are still being found now and being excavated."
The annual Dacre lecture held by the Andover History and Archaeology Society takes place on 23rd April at the Lights Theatre.
Professor Richard Holmes will be speaking about military history - tickets are £6, available from the Lights box office on 01264 368368. |
