Merityre and Mencap
An Andover garage is hoping to get the wheels in motion for a project to help local people with learning disabilities.
Merityre will give a donation to Andover Mencap for every tyre they sell for the next three months.
The money's that raised will go towards the building of Mencap's new headquarters in the town - they're looking to create a centre on Winchester Road, at a cost £1.7 million.
Both Merityre and the charity have had bases in Andover since the early sixties.
Garrison's Got Talent
The hidden skills of a bunch of Tidworth soldiers have helped to collect thousands of pounds for a forces charity.
A cheque's been handed over the SSAFA Forces Help this morning for the money collect at the Garrison's Got Talent event held last week.
£4350 was raised in total, through ticket sales and donations on the night.
Singing Signaller Emily Gurton won the competition, which saw acts like comedians, rappers, drummers and dancers battling it out for the title. |
