After thirty two hours of gruelling competition, an Andover man can officially call himself a double Iron Man.
Pete Lewis completed the Double Iron UK Triathlon at around 9pm on Sunday 2nd August 2009. He took on a 4.8 mile swim, a 224 mile bike ride and ran two marathons.
It was all to raise cash for Testway Transform's Money Box Fund, and he's collected over £1,000 so far.
Pete spoke to Andover Sound just after he finished the race and he said the fatigue was starting to set in then: "The tiredness only sort of hit me when I finished - everything kind of stopped.
"You won't believe the amount of food I consumed! Normally for a single Iron Man it's carbohydrate drinks and bars but I had all those and also cornflakes, noodles, sandwiches, pasta - my feed stops were longer than a normal Iron Man because you've got to sustain yourself over a day and a half."
You can still support Pete and raise even more cash for Testway Transform's Money box Fund. Simply click here to go to his sponsorship page.
