An Andover man has been cleared of all charges relating to the death of 38 year-old Steven Griffiths.
46 year-old Roberto Ranieri from King George Road had pleaded 'not guilty' to the manslaughter and murder of Mr Griffiths, also from King George Road, who died from a stab wound in August 2009.
The trial had been taking place at Winchester Crown Court (pictured) for the last week.
During the trial it was claimed that Mr Ranieri had been defending his family in an argument between the two men.
The jury found him 'not guilty' of all charges.
The trial last just over a week with Mr Ranieri denying the charges saying he was protecting his family against Mr Griffiths.
It was a defence that persuaded the jury to deliver their verdict just before 3pm yesterday. |
