North West Hampshire's MP says he doesn't want to see any 'pre-election gimmicks' in next week's Budget.
The Chancellor will open the red box on Wednesday, but Sir George Young thinks there shouldn't be any 'quick fix' measures that could have to be changed within a year.
Our representative wants Alistair Darling to stay on the cautious side, when it comes to the policies he outlines.
Sir George tells us what he thinks should be brought in: "This is going to be the background to the Election campaign and what I want to see steps to promote recovery.
"I think a key part of that is doing something about the huge overhang of debt - if you do that, there's a better chance of keeping interest rates and indeed taxes down in the medium term." |
