The so-called 'heart of the Test Valley' sure can rustle up a hearty meal according to one of the world's biggest websites.

Google has awarded the 'best foodie street' title in their Street View awards to Stockbridge.

As Andover Sound reported nearly three weeks ago, the village was shortlisted alongside streets from across the UK and since then thousands have been casting votes for their favourite.

Well villagers have said they're delighted and it's especially good news for Ian Hemming who's launching a new delicatessen there: "One of the reasons why we looked at Stockbridge for our future venture was because of the wonderful availability of fresh produce, seasonal produce and food producers in the local area.

"The diverse range of businesses means that people have got a great reason to actually visit Stockbridge and we hope to add to that and compliment what's already here."
