It's looking better for Andover's Food Bank after a successful appeal.
The charity helps people who need emergency meals and ran a collection at a supermarket in Andover recently after concerns they would run out of supplies.
At the start of this month the Food Bank was struggling - they only had two weeks of stock left.
It's been a hard year for them - like all charities, donations have been down but because of the recession there are more people in crisis and needing emergency food so demand's been up.
The collection at Sainsbury's saw nearly 400kg of food collected as well as money donated - one customer even arrived early to donate buy food for them after hearing their appeal on Andover Sound.
The charity have thanked everyone who's helped them as well as the supermarket who gave them 20 bouquets of flowers which were given out to customers who handed in food.
And if you'd like to help the Andover Food Bank they're holding another collection at ASDA in the town today. |
