Andover town centre could be getting a higher number of new disabled parking spaces than was first planned, according to planners looking to enhance the Lower High Street.
More details have been released by Test Valley Borough Council.
The idea behind the improvements is to completely pedestrianise the section of the High Street from the Time Ring up to the Guildhall, moving some blue badge bays that are there at the moment.
Among the plans are a new turning circle and drop off point just before the closure, extra disabled spaces on some public land behind the Danebury and a night time taxi rank at the front of the hotel.
There's also an idea for a disabled drop off point at Waterloo Court, but that'll only be put in if Hampshire County Council resurface the pavements leading up to it.
The finalised plans will be published in May, when we'll get a chance to comment on them and a report will go to Test Valley's cabinet in September for the scheme to get approval. |
