Well there's just a few weeks to go until the big day and, frankly, I've been a bit worried about our team and how we're going to cope when facing the 'Legends' of New Street. So I've arranged for the team to get stuck into some training over the next few weeks in the lead up to the game itself.
Perry Cocking runs the Brazilian Soccer School in Andover and is also playing for Andover Sound in the game so I arranged for a few of us to pop down to one of his classes and learn some silky skills...well that was the aim.
So Rob 'The Hawk' Hawkins, Shirley Swain, Gary Haberfield, Ben Walton and I went along to their Wednesday class. We learnt all the tricks the pros use and took part in some 5-a-side matches against young children...who easily beat us. It wasn't quite the morale boosting session I had in mind as we were pretty much torn apart by small children but I think we've all learnt a lot and I now know for certain that I'm not nearly fit enough to play 90 minutes - I'll be off to the gym then.
Click 'play' to hear how we got on.
Here was the highlight of the session for us - Gary Haberfield scoring a cracking goal after some silky skills from me...
