Andover Sound is proud to support the many local community groups and charities around North West Hampshire.
Here are some of the group's we're featuring in our Community Focus:
Andover Food Bank
The Andover Food Bank provides food for local people in crisis. It issues food vouchers which can be exchanged for emergency food boxes.
Each box contains a 3 day supply of nutritionally balanced tinned and dried food. This is a short term measure providing breathing space until additional help is offered by professional agencies.
Families and individuals within the Andover area may require food boxes for a variety of reasons. These can include debt, benefit delay, low income, unemployment, homelessness and domestic violence. They provide support whatever the reason. Donations are given through Harvest Festival school collections, local church gifts, company staff collections and by individuals to volunteers during supermarket collection days.

Andover Mencap
Andover & District Mencap has a long history of campaigning for people with a learning disability extending over 45 years.
It has sought to relieve its members' distress over this time and has kept itself aware of the latest developments in the education/health and social care environment throughout.
Some developments have been ill thought through with unintended consequences and it has not been slow in pointing this out.

Andover Mind
Andover Mind supports people aged 18 and above who experience mental ill-health. They work with people on an individual basis, both in our Resource Centre and out in the wider community.
Andover Mind's goal is to enable each person to find and maintain hope, take responsibility and control, achieve their potential, participate in society and build a meaningful life.
They try to focus on improving quality of life, not on illness and deficiency.

Andover VIPs
Andover VIP's is an active local charity run by visually impaired members assisted by a dedicated team of sighted volunteers.
They provide some exciting activities such as an active social club, regular day outings, lunch clubs, and recreational and educational classes.
For the sport-minded members they can even provide bowling, swimming and armchair exercises!

MS Society
The MS Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
They are a membership organization, but provide services to all.
The Andover branch is looking forward to introducing a new programme of activities for people affected by MS, their families and carers. If you would like to help on the committee, or as a volunteer, there will always be an opportunity for you to use your skills!
