Afternoon Drive

Of course, Drivetime isn't all about driving. The only show that's ever made driving an entertaining topic of debate is Top Gear, and that has three presenters, none of whom look like Chris Doidge.

He's not four-foot-tall like Richard Hammond. He doesn't wear clothes as bad as Jeremy Clarkson (he claims). And he's not stuck in the 1950s like James May.

Chris is a news man. When he's not on-air, he'll be scratching around for the freshest news stories.

"Hopefully there'll be something new and surprising every evening," he says. "Just some little nugget of information which gets people talking in the High Street or the gym. We'll put the day to bed and look ahead to the next one, and I'll play lots of great music too."

There'll be interviews with the town's movers and shakers, debates about the big issues affecting us in Andover and some light relief as well. All interspersed with a liberal dose of good music from this century and the last.

Drivetime will of course let you know where the jams are, and hopefully make the journey home more comfortable. But we'll be talking to people in the kitchen, on the school run or in the bath as well.

Expect Madonna and the Megashed, schools and the Stereophonics.

But not a review of the latest sports car.
